My journey as a salon owner began over 30 years ago when I started styling hair in high school. It wasn’t until I completed college and dove headfirst into the beauty industry that I realized this was a real passion of mine. After graduating, I became a licensed hairstylist in New York and studied makeup artistry simultaneously as I simply could not choose between the two.

Starting one client at a time, I decided to create a traveling service for brides as well as take care of clients in my humble home salon while I raised my two babies. I acquired some incredible talents along my way to join my soon established concept. Fast forward to 2009 when my team and I decided it was time to create a place for them to work as well. That’s when my salon and spa, Dana Bartone and Company, was born.

I wouldn’t trade my experience for anything; trying and failing, figuring it out myself, and learning to thrive in an exhausting industry taught me extremely valuable lessons both in life and in business. But as my salon eventually came to run itself, I realized that in a time when it’s more difficult than ever to run a successful business in this industry, my experience could help others as they write their own salontrepreneur stories. Now, in addition to running Dana Bartone and Co., I work with budding beauty business owners to create profitable, efficient businesses that can support them for years to come.
